Clicking on the links above will take you to one of four photo albums. In Rocks, we see some hand samples of the most common types of rock and also some rock outcrops. SEM photography opens a door to visualizing the very small, which of course soil particles are. Residual soils are the soils that result, in place, from weathering of rocks. And laboratory tests are used to learn about soil properties that are used in analysis or design.
